Eduard Spitfire Mk.IX engine 1:48 is a resin upgrade set from the Brassin range, a complete Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. It is not a model but a detail accessory for Spitfire Mk.IX kits in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin upgrade set from the Czech maker Eduard out of the Brassin range. It brings a complete Rolls-Royce Merlin engine for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale, with the engine block, the engine bearer and the cowlings, usually with photo-etched parts added. It is not a model or a kit of the whole aircraft: it is a detail accessory for advanced modelers, which makes it possible to build a model with the engine section exposed instead of the simplified plastic from the box. Cast resin renders the cylinders, the pipework and the accessories of the powerplant convincingly.
The Supermarine Spitfire is among the most famous fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.IX version, powered by a supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin V12, was the answer to the German fighters and became one of the most widespread variants. An exposed engine with the cowlings open is among the most striking ways to present a model.
It is supplied as a resin accessory, unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
