Resin exhausts for the Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:48 scale from the CMK brand. According to the name they contain the fishtail type as well as the stacks type of exhaust stubs; a model of the aircraft is not included.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory of the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft, but replacement exhaust stubs of the engine. The name gives two types: the fishtail and the angular tubular one (stacks).
The exhausts are the most conspicuous detail of the forward part of the fuselage, and plastic parts tend to have blanked-off openings and a mold seam. A resin casting captures the shape of the stubs and the burned edge more sharply and tends to be cast with the opening suggested. The two types of stubs moreover correspond to the fact that Spitfires Mk.IX occurred with both executions, so the set allows a particular machine to be built from a photograph.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the seating surface on abrasive paper, so that the row of stubs sits parallel with the fuselage. Drill the openings out carefully with a micro drill if necessary; resin crumbles, so drill slowly. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Painting: a dark metallic or graphite base, over it rusty and light gray pigments, and suggest the fan of exhaust gases running backward from the openings. It is practical to fit the exhausts only once the camouflage is finished.
This is not a kit of an aircraft, but an accessory to a model. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
