Eduard Brassin 1:48 Spitfire Mk.IX gun bay is a resin detail set of the wing gun bay for the plastic model of the Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. It is not a model but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Brassin line by the Czech maker Eduard is not an aircraft model but a detailing resin accessory. It makes it possible to open up the gun bay in the wing of the Spitfire Mk.IX and to show the rendered installation of the armament, the ammunition boxes and the internal structure of the wing. It usually comes with colored photo-etched sheet for the small details. The set does not include the aircraft kit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The armament was housed in the wing behind removable panels, which this set allows to be shown open.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut them off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. An open bay shows to advantage once it has been shaded with a wash, the edges brought out and a light patina added; the hinged-open panels add the feel of a servicing diorama.
This is an add-on resin set, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the aircraft kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
