Spitfire Mk.VIII top cowl 1:48 is a resin accessory set from Eduard with the top engine cowling for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket resin set, not a model in its own right. It holds the top engine cowling (top cowl) for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII in 1:48 scale. The casting replaces the plastic part and faithfully reproduces the shape of the top cowling over the engine, including fine surface detail that is often missing or simplified in plastic.
The Spitfire Mk.VIII was a high-performance version of the legendary British fighter with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and a strengthened airframe. The characteristic shaping of the top cowling over the engine is one of the features that set the individual Spitfire versions apart.
Wash the mold release residue off the part, cut it from the casting block and clean up the mating surfaces carefully so that the cowling lines up with the fuselage. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting and check that the transition between the resin cowl and the plastic fuselage is smooth, filling any gap if needed.
This is a resin accessory set. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
