This resin detail set holds a faithfully cast propeller of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XIV fighter in 1:48 scale, rounded out with an assembly and painting jig. The jig makes it easier to set the angle of the individual blades accurately and to paint the propeller cleanly. It is an accessory for the kit, not a stand-alone model of the aircraft.
The Spitfire Mk. XIV was powered by the potent Rolls-Royce Griffon V12, turning a multi-blade propeller of large diameter. It is precisely the mighty propeller that is one of the prominent recognition features of this version, and a faithful rendering of its blades noticeably affects the overall impression of a finished model.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When assembling and painting, use the enclosed jig, which will ensure a coaxial seating and a uniform angle of the blades.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for the kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
