This is a resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin line in 1:48 scale. It contains main landing gear wheels with a four-spoke rim (4 spoke) for models of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter. It is not a kit of an aircraft in its own right, but an accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels from the box with more faithful castings. The tires are usually cast with a realistic flattening under the weight of the machine, and the rim carries a finely rendered four-spoke pattern.
The Spitfire used several types of wheel with different rim patterns; this variant corresponds to the four-spoke version. Resin castings offer a crisper rim shape and tread than injection-molded plastic allows. The set is intended for Supermarine Spitfire models in 1:48 scale.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts with warm soapy water. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the wheels with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Masking is handy for a clean division between tire and rim.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
