A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost (Aires) brand. It is not a model of the airplane but a replacement pitot tube for a build of the Sukhoi Su-15TM interceptor. The precise resin casting replaces the coarser plastic part and improves the fidelity of the forward part of the airframe.
The Sukhoi Su-15, under the NATO reporting name Flagon, was a Soviet twin-engine interceptor built for the defense of the airspace. The Su-15TM version was among the later, modernized machines. The pitot tube senses dynamic pressure for working out the airspeed.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. It is a good idea to glue the thin part only at the end of the build, so that it does not get damaged.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
