A set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in 1:48 scale for a model of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-17M4 fighter-bomber. The masks are precisely die-cut from kabuki masking tape and serve for clean spraying of the cockpit glazing and the edges of the wheels. It is not a kit but a masking accessory.
The Su-17 (the Su-20 and Su-22 for export) was a Soviet fighter-bomber with a variable-geometry wing, developed from the fixed-wing Su-7. The M4 version was the most advanced production variant, with more modern avionics. The pivoting outer sections of the wing allowed a short takeoff as well as good speed qualities when attacking ground targets.
Stick the mask onto degreased glazing, press it against the frames and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. On multi-color Soviet camouflage schemes a mask achieves crisp transitions faster than working by hand. Once the paint has dried, take the masks off carefully.
This is an accessory (painting masks), not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
