A newly tooled injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the Soviet and Russian Sukhoi Su-25 close support attack aircraft, Frogfoot in the NATO code. The box contains a generous load of external stores, decals and instructions; paints, glue and accessories are not included.
The Su-25 is a single-seat, twin-engine attack aircraft intended for close air support of ground units. It is distinguished by a rugged structure, an armored pilot cockpit and the ability to carry a wide range of unguided and guided munitions on numerous racks. It was used in a number of conflicts from the 1980s and still serves in many countries today. It is valued for its toughness and for its ability to operate from unpaved surfaces.
The cockpit and the canopy glazing deserve attention; masking templates help toward clean frames. Fit the stores and the armament only after the airframe has been painted. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and apply primer before the airbrush. On broken-up camouflage schemes masking templates pay off, because digital patterns tend to be demanding to transfer by hand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
