This item is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a build. It offers the airbrakes of the Su-25 attack aircraft in the form used on the early series, made by 3D printing in resin. The printing manages thin walls and sharp edges that are hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic, so the parts look more accurate than the shapes from an ordinary kit. Behind the set stands the Czech brand Eduard from Obrnice near Most.
The Su-25, NATO reporting name Frogfoot, is a Soviet attack aircraft intended for the close support of ground troops. The prototype flew in 1975, the machine entered squadron service at the start of the 1980s and made its name in Afghanistan. The whole design is subordinated to toughness: a titanium bath protects the cockpit, the pair of jet engines is separated by the fuselage and the gun armament is a 30 millimeter cannon. On the Su-25 the airbrakes sit at the wingtips and open out sideways when braking - and those are what the set replaces.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water so the residue of uncured resin disappears from the surface; without that neither paint nor glue will hold. Cut the print supports off with a saw or a sharp cutter, never snap them off. They are glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate - cement for plastic does not work on resin. Sand wet and protect your airways. Before painting a primer pays off, as the shades hold on it more reliably.
