The set joins, according to the name, two things that must not be missing beside an aircraft on the apron: a boarding ladder to the cockpit and wheel chocks. It is a resin accessory for aircraft in 1:48 scale, intended for a model you build separately. There are no parts of the airframe in the package.
Chocks under the wheels and a ladder leaning against the fuselage are the small things that turn a model into a stopped moment on an airfield surface. Both elements work on their own as well: the chocks can be used beside another machine of the same scale, and the ladder in turn determines where the crew stand. The set suits a diorama as well as a plain stand.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water because of the remains of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a disc, not with pliers. Sanding is done wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic will not help here. Apply a primer before painting. A metallic shade with fine drybrushing of the edges suits the ladder, while the chocks tend to be dark and matte and look convincing with a light touch of dust near the ground. A weak wash in the recesses brings the shape out without making the small parts look heavy.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
