Big Ed is an Eduard range in which the manufacturer brings several separately sold add-on sets for one particular model together into a single package. This item is therefore a collection of improvements for a model of the Sukhoi Su-27 fighter in 1:48 scale, not an aircraft kit. You need to have the base model, as the sets are built into it.
The Su-27 is a single-seat twin-engine air superiority fighter with a blended airframe layout, brought into service in the second half of the 1980s. Characteristic of it are the large wing leading-edge root extensions, the pair of fins and the engines housed in separate nacelles. The extensive cockpit and the carefully detailed landing gear bays are among the places where add-on sets show most on a model.
Divide the pack up by build stage right at the start: the parts for the cockpit and the bays go in before the airframe is closed, and adding them later tends to be impossible. Cut the photo-etched parts on a hard surface, bend them in a bender or between two razor blades and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue in small drops. Do not spray a thick layer over pre-finished photo-etch; just fix it with a light coat of varnish. Apply the masks to degreased and dry glazing and remove them as soon as the last coat of color has set.
This is a bundle of accessories for a kit you already own, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
