A photo-etched set in 1:48 scale for the model of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire in the FR Mk.XIV version. Fine metal parts for detail that plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the best-known British fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.XIV version is one of the late forms, with a markedly longer nose and larger tail surfaces that were meant to balance the power of the engine. The letters FR mark the fighter reconnaissance conversion, that is a machine fitted with photographic equipment and deployed to observe over enemy territory.
A set of photo-etched parts for 1:48 scale that adds elements in thin metal sheet to the kit. These cannot be produced in plastic in a matching thickness, so they bring out above all the interior surfaces and the fine edges. The extent of the fret and where the parts go on the model is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains of the tab away. Make the bends in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, along the whole length of the edge at once, otherwise the edge will ripple. It is bonded with super glue applied in a small amount; on larger areas a two-part epoxy gives more time to line the part up. Wash the metal before painting, degrease it and go over it with a primer for metal, otherwise the coat will chip during handling.
The aircraft kit, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
