About product

Supermarine Spitfire (mid) pilot's seat 1:48, RESArm

A separate resin pilot's seat made by 3D printing, intended as a replacement for the simplified seat from a plastic kit. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for the cockpit of models of the Supermarine Spitfire in its mid production form. The fine printing captures the shell as well as the suggestion of the belts.

The real subject

The Supermarine Spitfire is a British fighter of the Second World War with its characteristic elliptical wing, one of the icons of the Battle of Britain. As a piston aircraft it had no ejection mechanism but a fixed bucket pilot's seat with belt restraint.

Usage tips

Wash the part free of print resin residue, cut the print supports off and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. A primer base is recommended, then the base color and toning with a wash; the shell comes out after a dry brush.

Who it is for

  • builders of British Second World War fighters in 1:48 scale
  • modelers who want a faithful cockpit without photo-etch
  • anyone interested in refining an interior quickly

This is a resin accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package.
