It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory: three-dimensional (3D) decals that bring layered relief with pre-printed dials, labels and color into a cockpit. A modeler thereby gets a credible interior without having to paint tiny dials with a brush or put photo-etched parts together.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version of the British fighter aircraft with its characteristic elliptical wing. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 and, together with the Hurricane, the machine became the mainstay of RAF Fighter Command in the defensive campaign of 1940. The cockpit of the early version is simpler than that of the later Spitfires, and its equipment is among the recognition features by which the variant is told apart.
The decals of the SPACE line are not self-adhesive and they are not soaked whole in water like classic wet decals. Moisten only the backing paper with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, separate the part from it carefully with tweezers, seat it on a clean, degreased surface in a drop of dispersion, that is white, glue, and press it down with a soft tool, ideally a cotton bud. The manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a softener, as it would damage the layered print. Level the area in advance and sand away any raised remains of the mold that would stop the part seating. Finish the interior before closing the fuselage up and unify the finished cockpit with a matte varnish applied in a thin coat.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
