An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard, released in the Weekend edition. This simply equipped edition relies on quality plastic parts with no photo-etched parts and no masks, which makes for a more straightforward and quicker build. The package contains plastic sprues, clear cabin parts and decals. The model is meant to be glued together and painted.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary British fighter. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and carried a mixed armament of cannons and machine guns. It was deployed in large numbers on the European as well as the Mediterranean front and became the backbone of fighter aviation in the middle phase of the Second World War. Its elegant elliptical wing is among the best-known silhouettes in aviation history.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and glue the clear cabin parts with a non-fogging adhesive. Apply British camouflage with an airbrush over a primer; soft transitions between shades are created with freehand spraying. Settle the decals onto gloss varnish and unify the surface with a final matte varnish. Because it is less demanding, the Weekend edition also makes a good basis for additional accessories.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
