This item is not a kit of the tank but a detail accessory in cast resin from the Czech maker CMK. Its content is a makeshift road wheel for the Soviet T-34 medium tank in 1:48 scale, derived in shape from the wheel of the German Panther, as the name states. The accessory is intended to be swapped for parts from a plastic kit and the usual work on the casting blocks is to be expected with it.
Road wheels are among the best visible details of the whole running gear on tank models. A resin casting holds crisper edges and a finer surface texture than injection-molded plastic allows, and it offers the modeler the chance to build a vehicle in a damaged or field-repaired condition, where one wheel is plainly different from the others. The number of pieces in the package is stated on the box; before buying it is a good idea to check the fit with your model.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a little detergent, so that mold release agent residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, and do not snap them. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection, because resin dust is harmful to health. It is glued with cyanoacrylate; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting we recommend a primer.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue. It is not a model in its own right but a part for modifying a kit.
