A replacement ejection seat with safety belts for a model of the Ta 183 Huckebein in 1:48 scale. An accessory to a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ta 183 Huckebein is a German project for a jet fighter from the end of the Second World War. It was planned with a swept wing and a high-set tail, but it never reached series production and the machine never flew. Models are therefore based on project documents and tend to be popular with builders interested in designs worked out at the very end of the war.
An accessory for a model of the Ta 183 Huckebein in 1:48 scale: an ejection seat with safety belts. It replaces the matching part of the kit and so deals with the most conspicuous place in the cockpit, which stays clearly visible even once the canopy is closed. The exact number of pieces in the package, the rendering of the belts, any alterations to the kit and the procedure for seating it are given in the manufacturer's instructions, which it pays to go through before building the cockpit.
Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the rest back carefully, so that the mating surface stays flat. The part is not polystyrene, so it glues with super glue. Wash and degrease it before painting. Paint and tone the seat before gluing it into the cockpit, because once the fuselage is closed you will not reach it. The belts are helped by a different shade and fine highlighting of the gaps.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
