Eduard TBF/TBM masks 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the American TBF/TBM Avenger carrier-based torpedo bomber. It gives crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a plastic model of the American Grumman TBF carrier-based torpedo bomber, or rather of its license-built TBM Avenger version. It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage areas without tediously cutting tape by hand.
The Grumman TBF Avenger is an American carrier-based torpedo and bomber aircraft of the Second World War; the version built by General Motors carried the designation TBM. It was a sturdy three-seat machine with a radial engine, a long greenhouse canopy and a dorsal gun turret. It carried a torpedo or bombs in a bomb bay and became the main strike torpedo bomber of the US Navy in the Pacific.
Degrease the extensive greenhouse glazing of the canopy and the gun turret carefully. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them patiently onto the individual panels of the framing, working systematically window by window. Finish off the corners and transitions with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the disc. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a shallow angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
