Eduard 1:48 Tempest Mk. V cockpit is a resin cockpit set for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the interior from the base kit and is not a model itself.

A resin accessory set from the Czech maker Eduard, from its Brassin range. It replaces the cockpit from the plastic kit of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V fighter in 1:48 scale with a complete casting with crisp edges, fine raised features and details that cannot be made in injection-molded plastic. The package holds resin parts; the aircraft model is not part of it and has to be bought separately.
The Hawker Tempest Mk. V was a British fighter of the end of the Second World War. It was derived from the Typhoon but received a new thin wing and the Napier Sabre H-block engine, thanks to which it was among the fastest piston machines at low altitude. It served for intruder attacks on ground targets and for intercepting fast targets. Its cockpit with its good view is clearly visible on a model, especially when the canopy is built open - which is why a detailed interior pays off.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap so that no mold release agent is left on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never snap them; do not breathe the dust from sanding resin and sand under water if you can. Try the cockpit dry before gluing it in - sometimes the inner walls of the fuselage have to be thinned. It is bonded with super glue. Spray the interior with primer, then the base shade, and lift the details with dry-brushing and a dark wash that flows into the recesses. Finish the cockpit and let it dry before you close the fuselage.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
