About product

Tempest Mk.V radiator intake ring 1:48 (Eduard, resin)

A resin detail set from the company Eduard for models of the Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the plastic intake ring of the chin radiator with a more accurate casting with a thinner leading edge and a cleaner profile. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for raising the detail of the front end.

What the set is for

The characteristic oval radiator under the fuselage is a prominent feature of the Tempest. The resin ring gives the intake a sharper, true-to-scale thin edge, which is hard to achieve in plastic. It is fitted in place of the original plastic part.

Usage tips

Wash the part to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting block and clean the mating surface so that the ring fits the fuselage exactly. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and protect your airways when sanding resin. It is a good idea to lay down a primer and to spray with an airbrush.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of the Tempest Mk.V in 1:48 who want a more faithful radiator intake.
  • Modelers aiming for a fine leading edge without plastic thickness.
  • Those with experience of gluing and cleaning up resin.

This is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
