A photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the two-seat training version of the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter fighter — the TF-104G — in 1:48 scale. The set adds fine etched parts that replace and complete the plastic components of the kit and raise the fidelity of the finished model. It is not a model in its own right but an accessory to a matching kit.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was an American single-engine supersonic fighter with a strikingly thin wing, a symbol of the Cold War that served in many NATO countries. The TF-104G is its two-seat training version with tandem cockpits, used to train pilots.
Separate the individual parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and clean up the cut edges. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a metal ruler, so that they come out clean and accurate. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary cement for plastic will not hold etched parts. It is worth painting the parts and blending them with the model before fitting. The set is meant for more advanced modelers used to working with small etched components.
This is not an aircraft model but a photo-etched detail set for a matching kit in the given scale. Supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the kit itself are not included in the package.
