TIALD pod 1:48 (Eduard Brassin) is a resin set of the targeting pod for laser guidance of weapons, intended for models of combat aircraft that carry this pod.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft model but a detailed underwing accessory in modeling resin from the Brassin line. The set represents the British TIALD pod for laser designation of targets and guidance of guided bombs. The package holds resin parts complemented by photo-etch and a decal. Intended for models of combat aircraft carrying TIALD in 1:48 scale, typically the Tornado.
TIALD is a British thermal imaging and laser designation pod that made precise guidance of laser-guided bombs possible. It was used among others on Tornado aircraft and became a symbol of the precision strikes of the 1990s. A faithful pod gives a model authentic armament.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them from the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and fold the photo-etch over an edge. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The optical head of the pod comes alive after it has been picked out and given a gloss finish.
It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
