1:48 Star type tie-down points for the deck of an American aircraft carrier is a photo-etched accessory to a kit you have already bought or to a diorama, not a model in its own right. It replaces the simplified or entirely missing lashings in a flight deck with subtle photo-etched metal from the Czech maker Brengun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings photo-etched tie-down points of the star pattern of the kind used on the flight decks of American aircraft carriers. It is an add-on accessory to a model of a carrier aircraft or to a section of deck, not a kit. The photo-etched metal is of very thin sheet, so the finished lashing comes out finer than any engraved or printed substitute.
Tie-down points are eyes recessed into the deck into which the chain or the strap holding an airplane in place is hooked. On a real ship they are laid out in a regular grid over the whole flight area so that a machine can be secured practically anywhere. On a model they are one of the first details a viewer notices, because they break up the otherwise empty surface of the deck and give the scene scale.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, and never break them out by twisting. Degrease the photo-etched metal with alcohol before gluing and spray it with a thin base coat, or the paint will not hold on the smooth metal. For recessing into the deck, what proves its worth is to mark the position with a micro drill and settle the part with a drop of thin super glue applied with the tip of a wire. In color they come out best when you spray them in the shade of the deck and then let the outline stand out with a dark highlight.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
