A replacement set of tracks for models of the Tiger I heavy tank of late production in 1:48 scale from the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
Responsibility details are not available.
These replacement tracks from the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez in 1:48 scale are intended for models of the Tiger I heavy tank in the late production version. They are an accessory to a kit already bought; the vehicle itself is not part of it.
The Tiger I carried two sets of tracks. The narrow transport tracks were fitted for carriage by rail, and for combat the wide tracks were put on, which lowered the huge vehicle's ground pressure. Vehicles of late production were given steel road wheels with internal springing, and with them a matching track pattern, so the difference from the early machines shows clearly on a model. Changing tracks was laborious and the crews had no love for it, but without it a vehicle this heavy could not be moved. Before the build it is therefore worth deciding whether you will catch the machine on its way to the front or in action itself.
Fit the tracks while the running gear is still freely accessible, that is before you attach the fenders and the side plates. Do not forget the characteristic sag between the return rollers. Start the painting with a dark steel shade, add a rust filter once it has dried, and finally rub a metallic sheen in with graphite along the edges of the grousers. Before you glue the track down, check as well that the drive sprocket engages the links and not the gaps between them.
