This resin detail set from Eduard contains replacement landing gear wheels for Tornado IDS models in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but an aftermarket accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels of a base kit with more accurately cast resin parts. A painting mask for separating the tire from the rim is usually included.
The cast tires carry a fine tread and a suggested flattening at the contact patch, which on a compressed wheel looks natural on a standing model. Replacing the wheels is one of the most rewarding and quickest improvements to the landing gear, because the wheels are clearly visible on a finished model.
First wash any mold release agent off the parts, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do any sanding with respiratory protection. Spray the rims and the tires separately; the mask makes a clean division between the rim color and the rubber easier.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
