This set of traffic signs is made by printing in resin, so it holds the sharp edges of the sign plates as well as the thin profiles of the posts. In 1:48 scale it will round out a town street, the access road to a military site or an airfield apron and give a scene a sense of scale that a viewer reads at once. The parts come in the bare color of the resin, so the surface is waiting for a filler primer and paint.
Road signage is among the elements that say more about a place and a period than figures do. Rinse the parts in lukewarm water and let them dry thoroughly, and support the posts while gluing, because the print is fragile in thin sections. The drawing is deepened by a darker wash in the edges of the plate, a final matte varnish suppresses the gloss of the print and a fine dust settles the sign into the terrain. Anyone who wants their signage accurate will fill the colored fields in according to period regulations or use a small print of their own.
