A resin accessory of the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft, but replacement ejection seats, which are swapped in the cockpits for the plastic parts from the Airfix kit. The set reckons with both cockpits, which corresponds to the two-seat arrangement of the real subject.
The TSR-2 was a British twin-engine bomber and reconnaissance aircraft at the prototype stage, the development of which was halted in the middle of the 1960s. The crew consisted of a pilot and a navigator in separate cockpits one behind the other, so two seats are visible on a model. The seats are precisely among the parts that most affect the impression of an open cockpit, and a resin casting captures the shell, the padding and the controls more sharply than injection-molded plastic allows.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the surfaces on abrasive paper and do the sanding wet with protection for your breathing. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Try the seating dry before closing the fuselage up; the seats tend to be a tight fit in the cockpit. Paint over a primer, bring the hollows out with a dark wash and the edges with a dry brush. Set the harness apart from the shell in shade and in degree of sheen, otherwise the whole thing will merge.
This is not a kit of an aircraft, but an accessory to a model. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
