The Hauler Type 95 Kurogane 1:48 photo-etched detail set refines the build of the Japanese light reconnaissance car. It is cut for the Tamiya kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of parts made of photo-etched sheet from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale for building the Japanese Type 95 Kurogane light reconnaissance car. It is not a kit or a finished model but an aftermarket accessory for the basic Tamiya plastic kit. The set is cut precisely for that, so the parts follow the particular shapes of the contents of the box.
The Type 95 Kurogane was a Japanese light car with all-wheel drive, introduced in the second half of the 1930s. It served for reconnaissance, signals and carrying officers, and it ranks among the first series-produced cross-country vehicles with four-wheel drive anywhere. It was powered by an air-cooled twin-cylinder engine, which made running it easier in areas without support and in the cold. The car appeared on most of the battlefields where the Japanese army operated.
Soft-skinned vehicles have a lot of thin sheet and wire items, on which photo-etch shows the most, brackets, running boards, bezels and wipers for instance. It pays to build in stages and to cut the parts off the fret only at the moment you are going to glue them, or the small pieces get lost. Degrease the metal with alcohol, run the bends along the etched groove and glue with super glue in a negligible amount. The base is a primer, and only then the paint. On Japanese vehicles discreet wear suits; marked scuffing quickly looks overdone on a small car.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
