The simplified Zoom photo-etched set 1:48 Typhoon Mk.Ib Bubbletop from Eduard brings color photo-etch to the cockpit of the late Typhoon version with the bubble canopy. It is an accessory to a kit.

The set belongs to the simplified Zoom line, which concentrates on color pre-printed photo-etched parts for the cockpit — above all the instrument panel and the seat belts — and fits on a single fret. It is intended for a model of the Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib in the late version with the bubble canopy, in 1:48 scale. The unpainted photo-etched parts for the exterior and the landing gear that the full etched sets offer are not included.
A cockpit with a bubble canopy is far more glazed than the earlier arrangement with side doors, so once the build is done you can see into it from every angle. That is exactly where a printed photo-etched panel pays off: the dials are legible, the frames sharp and the material is of scale thickness. Metal seat belts then give the seat the soft, natural look that cannot be achieved in plastic.
The Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib was a British single-engine aircraft with the powerful Napier Sabre engine and an armament of four 20 mm cannon. It was originally designed as a fighter, but made its name mainly as an attack aircraft against ground targets, where it used bombs and unguided rockets. Later machines received a sliding bubble canopy in place of the original cockpit with side doors, which improved the view fundamentally — and it is this version that is usually referred to as the bubbletop.
Do not repaint or varnish the color photo-etched parts; the printing is finished. The plastic panel from the kit usually has to be sanded down so that the etch seats without a gap. Glue with super glue in tiny drops, not with plastic cement. Shape the seat belts over a rounded tool to give a natural sag. On this type it pays to finish the cockpit and photograph it before you cover it with the canopy.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
