Eduard masks Typhoon Mk.Ib Door Canopy 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the British Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter with the early framed canopy. It ensures sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for a plastic model of the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.Ib fighter and attack aircraft in its early form with the framed car door canopy, that is with side doors for getting into the cockpit. It is neither a kit nor a stand-alone model but a set of precisely shaped masks of thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will appeal to modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without laboriously cutting tape by hand.
The Hawker Typhoon is a British fighter and attack aircraft of the Second World War with a massive H-24 engine. Early machines had a framed canopy with side doors, nicknamed the car door, and only later versions received a bubble canopy with a better view. The Typhoon excelled as an attack aircraft against ground targets, carrying rockets and bombs, and became famous above all in support of ground troops.
Degrease the glazing of the framed canopy and of the side doors carefully. Lift the masks off the backing, lay them on the individual frames and press them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a shallow angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
