Eduard 1:48 Vought F4U-1A Corsair TFace is a masking set for the outer and the inner side of the clear parts of a model of the carrier fighter with the inverted gull wing.

A self-adhesive masking set for a model in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The TFace designation means masks for both sides of the clear part: the canopy framing can be sprayed from inside in the interior shade of the cockpit and only then from outside in the top color. On the Corsair, whose canopy is fairly tall and well transparent, the difference shows markedly on a finished model. It is not a kit or decals but an accessory for a build. The basic single-sided configuration is listed by Eduard as a separate item.
The Vought F4U-1A Corsair was a single-engine carrier fighter with a radial engine and the characteristic inverted gull wing, which made it possible to use a large propeller while keeping the landing gear short. Compared with the earliest batch, the F4U-1A configuration brought, among other things, a raised seat and a modified canopy with a better view forward, which was essential for landing on a deck. The framing of the canopy on this type is prominent and clearly noticeable on a model in 1:48 scale.
The inner side first; you will no longer reach it once the canopy is fitted. Wash the clear part, degrease it and let it dry. Release the mask from the sheet with the tip of a scalpel, carry it with tweezers and seat it along the frame, then press it down with a soft tool all around the perimeter. Trim any overhang with a fresh blade in a light pass along the outline. Spray a thin sealing coat of base color first, then the shade itself in several light passes. Take the masks off once the paint has flashed off, pulling them slowly back over themselves.
It is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
