1:48 Water Jerry Can 20l - USA

The 20 l water can, American form, 1:48 scale

This is an accessory set in 1:48 scale with a model of the twenty-liter water can in the American form. It is not a kit but a small part for a vehicle, for a trailer or for a diorama scene.

The real subject

Water containers were deliberately set apart from fuel ones, so that the contents could not be confused. The difference lay in the closure, which on water containers tended to be of a different type and was easier to clean, and above all in the markings. American gear also differs from European gear in its shape and in the way it is held, so a correctly chosen can is one of the small things that give away on a model whose vehicle it is, even when it is painted in a similar shade.

Usage tips

• The containers belong in brackets, on the platform of a trailer or with a group of gear in a scene. Check dry that they seat in the bracket.
• Degrease the small parts and spray them with a base coat, so that the paint holds on the smooth surface.
• Bring the edges and the closure out with a dark wash and a fine dry brush. With water containers more restrained weathering works better than with fuel ones.
• Choose the lettering and markings according to the subject you are building. The set is a building part, not documentation.

Who the set is for

• Builders of American vehicles in 1:48 scale.
• Modelers who tell gear apart by side and do not use the same container everywhere.
• Builders of dioramas with a camp or supply scene.
• Collectors of small accessories for vehicle models.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
