A British five-gallon water jerry can in 1:48 scale. A small accessory for models of Allied vehicles and for dioramas.

This is a small piece of equipment, not a vehicle kit. A miniature of the British five-gallon water jerry can in 1:48 scale, intended as cargo and stowage for models of Allied vehicles or as a diorama detail.
Water containers were part of the basic stowage of British unit vehicles just as fuel cans were. On a model it is exactly this kind of small load that separates a built kit from a scene that looks used: a can strapped to a fender, leaning against the cargo bed or standing beside the vehicle gives the composition a sense of size and life. In 1:48 the object is small, which makes clean work and restrained weathering all the more important.
Prepare the accessory by cleaning it, sanding away any remaining casting mark and bonding the part with cyanoacrylate. A primer before painting is advisable. Apply the base shade thinly so that the pressings are not clogged, then add a dark wash into the corners and light scuffs on the edges. Water containers were usually distinguished from fuel ones, so separating it by color from the rest of the load looks natural on a model. Check any particular markings on the part against your own references.
This is an accessory, not a model. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
