Wheels for the Hurricane, variant 1, in 1:48 scale are cast with a seat under the weight of the machine and replace the roundly shaped parts from a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin replacement for the main wheels of the Hurricane in one forty-eighth. The number of the variant in the name is not accidental: with this type several forms of hubs and tread patterns met in service, and the designation of the variant is therefore a key datum for choosing the right set. This is form number one.
The Hurricane was a British fighter monoplane of mixed construction, in which a tubular frame was combined with a covering. It had a wide track of landing gear that retracted toward the fuselage, and it was exactly thanks to that that it stood up to operation from muddy and grassy surfaces better than aircraft with a narrow track. On a model this means that the wheels are well visible and their shape markedly influences the overall impression.
Before painting, wash the castings and dry them. The remnant of the sprue you will as a rule find at the place of contact, where it is least conspicuous; after cutting it off level the surface, so that the machine stands straight on both wheels. Use cyanoacrylate glue for the joint. In painting it pays to separate the shade of the tire from the hub and to mask the transition between them with a thin strip of masking tape. Mud in the tread is a rewarding motif with this aircraft, but dose it sparingly.
