This accessory from the maker Aires is not an airplane model but a set of resin wheels with paint masks for building the Soviet Yak-3 fighter in 1:48 scale. The wheels tend to be cast with a realistic tread pattern and a slight flattening at the contact patch (the weighted effect), and the masks make it easier to separate the tire cleanly from the hub when painting.
The Yakovlev Yak-3 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War. It was among the lightest and most agile fighters of its day, valued for its performance at low and medium altitudes on the Eastern Front.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin wheels and cut off the casting blocks. Stick the masks precisely onto the edge of the hub, spray the tire and finish the hub separately. For a realistic look we recommend a matte rubber shade and light dusting.
