The Yak-38 Forger vertical lift engine and cover in 1:48 scale is a resin replacement part by Quickboost for a model of this Soviet carrier VTOL fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory by the brand Quickboost brings a precisely cast vertical lift engine and its cover for a model of the Soviet carrier VTOL fighter Yakovlev Yak-38 Forger in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that takes the place of the simplified version from the box with a more faithful casting of the correct shape and fine detail.
The Yak-38 was a vertical takeoff and landing fighter of the Soviet Navy, operated from the Kiev class aircraft carrying cruisers. For a vertical takeoff it used, besides the main engine, a pair of separate lift engines placed behind the cockpit under hinged covers. A faithfully cast lift engine and its cover are a conspicuous detail of the upper part of the fuselage; the correct shape lifts the look of a model more than smooth plastic parts from the box do.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate. Before gluing, check the fit and decide on an open or a closed cover; bring the interior out with shading.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
