A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for improving the cockpit of the plastic kit of the Yakovlev Yak-38M Forger A in its late-production form. The set brings finely cast cockpit parts with a well-detailed instrument panel, side consoles and an ejection seat. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that replaces the original cockpit from the kit.
The Yak-38, NATO reporting name Forger, was a Soviet single-seat carrier attack and fighter aircraft with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), operated from the Kiev-class aircraft-carrying cruisers. The Yak-38M was an improved variant with reworked engines and more power. The designation Forger A corresponds to the single-seat combat version, as opposed to the two-seat Forger B trainer.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and resin should be sanded with your airways protected. Check the fit before the fuselage is closed. The interior is brought out with a shaded cockpit color, a dry brush on the edges and a wash into the recesses.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
