The injection-molded plastic kit Yakovlev Yak-1 in 1:48 scale from Academy.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1 fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale from Academy. The package holds a detailed cockpit and landing gear with an optional version on wheels or on skis, a masking film for the glazing and decals for several marking variants. A rewarding model of an early Soviet fighter of the Second World War.
The Yakovlev Yak-1 was one of the first modern Soviet fighter aircraft of the Second World War. It was of mixed construction with a wooden and metal framework, a liquid-cooled V12 engine and good handling. The machines proved themselves in the heavy fighting on the Eastern Front, among other places in the Battle of Stalingrad, and they became the basis of the whole successful Yak line of fighters.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage up; the masks enclosed make clean glazing easier. Decide in advance whether you will build the model on wheels or on winter skis. Lay a primer down before varnishing and apply the paints with an airbrush; winter overspray and wear are rewarding on the Eastern Front.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
