A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks of kabuki tape for plastic models of the two-seat trainer version Yakovlev Yak-38U in 1:48 scale. The BASIC version contains masks for the glazed parts and other clear parts, wheel masks and basic details for the camouflage. It is not a kit but an aid for spraying the canopy frames and the wheels cleanly.
The Yak-38 was a Soviet carrier combat aircraft with vertical take-off and landing, operated from the ships of the Kiev class. The two-seat Yak-38U trainer version had a lengthened nose with a second cockpit, which made greater demands on masking the more extensive glazing.
Degrease the glazing, move the masks with tweezers and press them down along the frames so that paint does not creep under. Lay on thin coats and lift the masks off while the finish is still flexible. On wheels with separate hubs the tire is easy to separate from the rim.
This is a masking set, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package.
