The Mazda RX-7 of the FD3S type in 1:24 from the Japanese firm Fujimi. A set of the late form of this coupe with a twin-rotor Wankel engine, from the licensed Initial D range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures the third generation of the Mazda RX-7 sports coupe, which the maker listed under the code FD3S. The name of the item refers to the later form from the end of the 1990s and to a driver from the licensed Initial D series. The publisher is the Japanese brand Fujimi, the material is injection-molded plastic and the scale is 1:24.
The last-generation RX-7 is exceptional among sports cars for its powerplant: instead of pistons it works with a pair of rotors, and sequential twin turbocharging goes with it. The combination of a low front hood, softly modeled fenders and light construction gave rise to one of the best-balanced rear-wheel-drive cars of the 1990s. The later form differs from the early ones above all in changes to the rear and to details of the equipment.
The rounded surfaces of the RX-7 reflect light nicely, so it pays to invest time in the preparation: a filler primer, wet sanding between coats and only then the color. Apply metallic shades onto a smooth base and add a clear coat, otherwise they look grainy. Polishing can only be done once the finish has fully cured; haste here does more harm than good.
The item is an unassembled plastic kit, not a finished model; paints and chemicals do not come with it.
