The real subject

The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter aircraft with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, that is a V-12. The rear part of its fuselage was fabric-covered and the main landing gear retracted toward the fuselage. On a standing model with the gear down the wheels are well in view, and the difference between the individual machines can be recognized on them: the wheel discs on Hurricanes occurred in several forms, and the name of the set determines the one with five spokes.

What the set contains

Replacement wheels for a model of the Hurricane Mk.I in 1:72 scale, with a disc of five spokes. It is an accessory that replaces the wheels from the original kit, so it is counted on only when the landing gear is being built. In 1:72 scale the parts are small, and it pays to put them aside into a dish so that they do not get lost.

Building and painting tips

Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not round off the edge of the disc. The parts are not of polystyrene, so glue for plastic has no effect on them; use super glue. Before painting, wash the wheels with lukewarm water and degrease them, otherwise the paint adheres badly. The spokes of the disc are managed most easily by first spraying the whole wheel in the color of the disc and painting the rubber in by hand. The set suits modelers who, in a small scale, want to have in order even a detail that can be seen from close up. Unless stated otherwise, it is a separate accessory: the model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
