The Vigilante was originally created as a supersonic carrier bomber, but in the RA-5C version it served mainly for reconnaissance from the decks of American aircraft carriers. It was an exceptionally large and fast twin-engine machine with a high-set wing and a slender fuselage. It is exactly the long glazed part of the cockpit and the extensive surfaces that make painting it a job in which a well cut aid pays off handsomely.
Rid the surface of grease and dust before sticking the mask on. Seat the shapes along the engraved outlines, press the corners down above all and spray perpendicular from above, not at an angle under the edge. Let the finish flash off between coats. After removal, small imperfections can be retouched with a thin brush, though with careful work there is usually nothing to make good.
