Responsibility details are not available.
One part that everybody notices in an open cockpit. The pilot's seat complete with the seat belts replaces the bare plastic molding and gives the interior depth. It comes from the Czech brand CMK and is intended for the late production blocks of the P-40N fighter. The set is intended for Special Hobby kits.
The letter N marks the final mass-produced form of this American fighter. Its designers cut weight, reworked the glazing behind the pilot's head and changed the armament, so the individual production blocks differ noticeably from one another. The machines served in the Pacific and Asian theaters and flew under the markings of several Allied nations.
Cut the original part out carefully and level the area with a file so the new seat sits flat. The belts stand out when you separate them from the shell with a different shade and lightly pick out the buckles. It makes sense to finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage.
The cockpit interior tends to be skimped on small models, and yet it is the part seen best through a slid-back canopy. A seat with belts therefore belongs among the upgrades that give the most for the work put in. Add a control column and a few wires along the sides and the space looks finished.
