On this aircraft the set deals with the most tiresome part of the work, bounding the clear areas. The Lysander cabin has an unusually large number of panes, and cutting tape by hand on it takes more time than the whole rest of the build. The one-sided rendition is stated in the name. The set is intended for Airfix kits.
The Westland Lysander was created as an army cooperation machine for working with ground units. The high-set wing with slats and flaps gave it remarkable takeoff and landing qualities, and the fixed landing gear carried aerodynamic wheel fairings. It was exactly the ability to put down on a short meadow that later made it a sought-after tool for night flights over occupied Europe. The Mk.I and Mk.III versions differed in powerplant and equipment.
Proceed section by section: seat a few parts, check that the edges have adhered and only then carry on. Small squares are easier to place with a moistened wooden stick. Leave a thin gap between the panes for the color of the frame so the lines do not thicken. Before spraying, run a gloved finger over the whole glazing so that no air bubble is left under the film.
