A kit of the destroyer Yukikaze of the Kagero class in 1:350 scale. A special version; the name gives crew figures and etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic model of the Japanese destroyer Yukikaze in the larger 1:350 scale, in which the details of the deck equipment come out far better than on smaller ship kits. According to the name of the item it is a special version, to which crew figures and etched metal parts belong.
Among Japanese vessels the Yukikaze earned a reputation as an exceptionally lucky ship. She went through the overwhelming majority of the great encounters of the Pacific war, including the fighting around Guadalcanal and the escort of the last voyage of the battleship Yamato, and yet she came through to the end of the war. After the capitulation she served for repatriation and was subsequently handed over to China, where she sailed under a new name for a number of years more.
Paint the little figures separately, before you seat them on the deck. A basic shade for the uniform, a suggested face and a darker wash are enough; in this scale you do not need more detail. The triple torpedo tube mounts and their training gear are among the finest parts, so leave them to the end. Fit the metal railings only after the sides have been varnished; with earlier mounting the stanchions easily get bent.
The contents are unassembled and unpainted. Modeling paints and glues are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
