A sizable injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine Douglas A-20G Havoc attack aircraft in 1:32 scale from the manufacturer HK Models, in the version in service with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). According to the name, this Standard Version configuration additionally contains metal landing gear legs for firmly supporting a heavy model and a nose weight; alongside them there are photo-etched and clear parts and decals for Australian markings.
The A-20 Havoc was a fast twin-engine attack and light bombing aircraft. The A-20G version had full gun armament in the nose instead of a glazed nose and specialized in low-level attacks against ground and shipping targets. In the Pacific the Australians deployed it against Japanese positions on New Guinea and the surrounding islands.
On a large 1:32 model, assemble and paint the interior and the engine nacelles before closing the fuselage. The metal landing gear legs provide stability, so degrease them for paint adhesion. Mask the glazing and only clean the machine gun barrels up lightly. Large surfaces are rewarding for color modulation, washes and discreet dusting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
