Masks for the two-seat Skyhawk are intended for a model of the trainer version of this aircraft in 1:48 scale. The lowest range covers the long canopy and the clear parts, that is the areas most struggled with when building a two-seat machine.
A two-seat cockpit has roughly twice as many frames as a single-seat one, and a divider between the seats on top of that. Hand-cut tape nearly always slips somewhere, and the mistake is clearly visible after spraying. Pre-cut shapes get round the problem, because they seat exactly in the frame and the edge stays straight along its whole length. The time saved can be given to the interior, which on a trainer is very much on show.
The Douglas company derived the two-seat rendition from the light carrier-based attack aircraft by lengthening the fuselage and adding a second seat for the instructor. The TA-4J version served to train US Navy pilots, while the TA-4H rendition was created for the Israeli Air Force and differed in equipment. The shape of the canopy is the same on both, so the set can be used for either, including machines in colorful training finishes.
