The P-39 Airacobra sticker (15 cm, black) is a fifteen-centimeter silhouette of the American Bell P-39 fighter in a black rendition.
Responsibility details are not available.
The outline of one of the most unusual fighters of the Second World War, worked as a single-color sticker fifteen centimeters wide. The dark variant belongs on a light background, where the silhouette is seen at a glance. The motif has no interior drawing and no shading; it relies entirely on the clean shape of the airframe.
The Bell P-39 had its engine placed behind the pilot, roughly at the center of gravity of the fuselage, and drove the propeller through a long shaft run under the floor of the cockpit. The freed nose was given a nose landing gear, which on single-seat fighters of the day was a rarity, and room for a cannon firing through the hub of the reduction gear. The cockpit did not open with a sliding canopy but with automobile-style doors on both sides. The distribution of mass close to the center of gravity gave the machine a brisk response to the controls, yet at the same time it called for careful handling when speed was lost. The result is an easily recognized outline that no other fighter of the day has.
Clear the chosen spot of dust and grease and let it dry. Lay the sticker down from one edge to the other, so that no air gets under it; small bubbles can be pushed out with a soft squeegee toward the nearest edge. Press the thin projections of the outline, typically the wingtips and the tail surfaces, down separately at the end.
