1:48 Douglas TA-4H/J Skyhawk IAF – Expert Kabuki Masks is the most extensive set of painting masks from the manufacturer New Ware for a model of the TA-4H/J Skyhawk trainer in Israeli service in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains pre-cut painting masks of kabuki paper for a model of the two-seat Douglas TA-4H/J Skyhawk trainer and light attack aircraft in the colors of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) in 1:48 scale. The most extensive Expert rendition adds, beyond the glazing, masks for the inner face and further details for the greatest possible precision.
The lengthened two-seat cockpit of the Skyhawk has detailed framing that is slow to mask by hand. Masks of thin kabuki paper seat exactly on the shape of the parts, cover the glazing from both sides and leave no adhesive residue when removed. The Expert version is intended for more experienced modelers who want perfect paint boundaries and a clear view into the cockpit as well.
Transfer the masks with tweezers and press the edges down carefully before spraying. Stick the inner masks on before the cockpit is closed. Spray in thin coats; take the masks off while the paint has only just flashed off, for the sharpest edge.
This is a set of painting masks, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
